In this edition of Weekly Watch, we present a creation that unites haute horlogerie and couture in an extraordinary manner: the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Tourbillon „Tamara Ralph“, limited to 102 pieces and released in 2024.
A Royal Oak that is more than a timepiece
This model arose from a collaboration with fashion designer Tamara Ralph, whose designs are renowned for clean lines, avant-garde silhouettes, and feminine expressiveness. Their shared signature is evident in every detail.
Frosted Gold: Light chiselled into the metal
The case in Frosted Gold is textured using a traditional Florentine hammering technique. Under light, it creates the impression of a crystallized surface – each strike by the goldsmith produces a unique pattern. The satin-finished bezel provides a serene contrast to this delicate texture.
Architecture in three dimensions
The sculptural case plays with edges and planes, while the open-worked dial reveals rose gold bridges reminiscent of couture elements. This formal language imparts depth and elegance to the watch.
Tourbillon calibre 2964
At its heart beats the in-house calibre 2964 with flying tourbillon. Its 169 components are hand-finished – with polished edges, refined surfaces, and a bridge whose design subtly evokes the draping of a couture gown.
