The founder 1825
Claus Herrmann Spliedt had a love for drawing and craftsmanship. The Danish king, who happened to be present for an inspection at the school graduation, offered the young Spliedt a free scholarship at the University of Copenhagen, as he had been introduced as the top student. However, Spliedt politely declined. He preferred to become a goldsmith.
At the age of 31, the young goldsmith Claus Hermann Spliedt purchased the house at Breiten Strasse No. 18 on October 16, 1856.
This laid the foundation for the goldsmithy in Itzehoe. The official inauguration was later set for 1857.

The official inauguration was later set for 1857. To this day, the original house, now bearing number 20, remains in family ownership: It is managed by Henning, Volker, and Torsten Spliedt.
Hamburg
In the fifth generation, Torsten H. Spliedt opened the store in Kampen on Sylt. Here, the owner occasionally sits with a customer in a beach basket chair in front of the store to help find the perfect gift.
Represented in Hamburg since 2016, we now present curated watchmaker art and jewelry highlights "by Appointment Only" in our Watch and Jewelry Apartment at the new Jungfernstieg 15.

With the changing times, we decided to rethink the classic jewelry store. In July 2023, this led to our first Watch and Jewelry Apartment in Hamburg – a place for discreet, stylish consultation in a modern atmosphere.

As a renowned watch expert with comprehensive knowledge, he has enriched our house since 2025. With passion and precision, he supports our customers – from personal consultations and professional watch valuations to seamless processes for selling and buying timepieces.
