Where classical watchmaking artistry meets modern precision
This week, we present a timepiece that appeals equally to tradition-conscious collectors and technology enthusiasts: the Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Regulator, reference 5235G-001
A timekeeper that masterfully combines historical inspiration with forward-looking technology.
Inspired by historical regulator clocks – once tools for watchmakers to determine precise time – this model features an extraordinary dial layout: hours, minutes, and seconds are decentrally displayed, creating not only a striking visual effect but also compelling functionality.
The 40.5 mm case in fine white gold impresses with its flat, cushion-shaped form and sits exceptionally comfortably on the wrist. The vertically satin-finished bezel adds particular elegance, lending the model subtle depth.
On the two-tone silver-gray dial, the dark blue hands and black indices set refined accents. The clearly structured regulator arrangement with sub-dials at 12 and 6 o'clock exemplifies technical clarity and horological precision.
At its heart beats the specially developed Caliber 31-260 REG QA with innovative Silinvar balance spring and Pulsomax escapement – a prime example of modern micromechanics. The integrated annual calendar automatically recognizes month lengths and requires adjustment only once a year – at the end of February –
