The Montblanc 1858 Split-seconds Chronograph Limited Edition, reference number 119910, embodies Montblanc’s rich watchmaking tradition. As a limited edition of only 100 pieces, this example is number 1. Launched in 2018, the model draws on the historical aesthetic of the Minerva manufacture. Inspired by chronographs of the 1930s, it unites vintage-inspired design elements with contemporary precision. The case, crafted from high-quality bronze, measures 44 mm in diameter and develops a distinctive patina over time, giving each piece its own character. The titanium case back ensures durability and skin compatibility while offering a view of the elaborately finished movement through the exhibition back. The black dial with luminous Arabic numerals and hands provides excellent legibility, complemented by a tachymeter scale and chronograph functions. The split-seconds function, also known as rattrapante, allows the measurement of intermediate times and underscores the technical sophistication of this timepiece. The watch is powered by the hand-wound calibre MB M16.31, based on the legendary Minerva calibre 16-29. It offers a power reserve of approximately 50 hours and features traditional finishing such as Geneva stripes and polished bevels. Water-resistant to 3 ATM, it is suitable for everyday wear. The black leather strap with a bronze pin buckle completes the design and ensures a high level of comfort. This model is not only a functional instrument but also a piece of watchmaking history that reflects Montblanc’s expertise in haute horlogerie.
