A watch for the longest journey in the world Some watches measure time. Others tell stories. The IWC Pilot’s Watch Timezoner Spitfire Edition “The Longest Flight” undoubtedly belongs to the latter category. It was created to honour an extraordinary aviation project: the historic circumnavigation of the globe by a restored Spitfire, which crossed numerous countries and time zones during its longest flight mission of all time. The result is one of the most fascinating and rarest modern pilot’s watches from IWC. With its limited edition of only 250 pieces worldwide, the IW395501 combines the legendary Spitfire aesthetic with IWC’s innovative Timezoner technology. By simply pressing and rotating the bezel, local time can be set to any of the 24 world time zones in seconds. The hour hand, date and 24-hour display follow automatically – a technical achievement that appeals equally to frequent travellers and watch enthusiasts. The striking 46 mm stainless-steel case harmonises perfectly with the olive-green dial and the details inspired by historic cockpit instruments. Inside works the IWC-manufactured calibre 82760 with Pellaton winding and low-wear ceramic components. The robust automatic movement offers approximately 60 hours of power reserve and stands for the highest reliability under all conditions. Offered is an exceptionally well-preserved 2019 example. The watch is in very good condition, has been carefully maintained and still retains some of its original protective stickers. It is supplied as a full set including the original box, papers, warranty card and the original IWC folding clasp.
